Liouse Point

The megalithic set of dolmens on Liouse Point is located on high ground at the southern end of Arz Island, which would have also made it clearly visible from distant points.

It is a group of three dolmens set in the remains of a mound; this was most probably built within an older tumulus. The central dolmen is the best preserved of the three monuments.

This passage grave with a single chamber was first reported in the mid-nineteenth century by Abbé Mahé. At that time the grave goods were discovered; all trace of these has now disappeared. Very faint engravings can still be seen today, in particular on the central dolmen.

These dolmens are located on private property, but are visible and accessible from the coast path, at a point offering outstanding views over the Gulf of Morbihan.
